Why so quiet?

Why does it appear as though I've little to no artwork in the last year? Well, let me explain a bit about the video game industry. They take their NDA's (non disclosure agreements) seriously. So basically, until the project I'm working on is revealed to the public, my work and I are contained in a stealthy submarine. I can probably say that I'm quite proud of a lot of the work I've created. I'm definitely eager to share and will as soon as I get the oks.

Luckily I get the chance every once and a while to work on something completely unrelated. I just did a couple concept pieces for a friend (who looks like Doctor House) working on a children's book.

My Bicycle

I proclaim my Bicycle to be ridable art! Behold my latest creation:

It has taken about a month of waiting for various parts to arrive in the mail and far too many customs charges. It's still a work in progress. The next thing to do is install my clear blue pedals and get some LEDs to light them up. I've still got some red wire which I might put on the back of a jacket or line my helmet or some goggles with, if I can keep it safe.

Elliott Brood featured on MySpace front page

For the time being, the front page of MySpace looks as above.
It's fantastic to see the guys getting publicity like this, which I'm hoping means more fans and more attention.

You can check out some of the videos on their sidebar. I had a hand in a few of them, so shameless plug, but do go and enjoy it all. Great new tunes for sure!

Almost Ready to Paint

Just as the weather is getting good here in Vancouver, I'm getting ready to shut myself in with a new computer. If I can afford it, I'll soon be picking up a 12" cintiq and a document projector to rough work onto canvasses. Then I'll be trying to put together a collection of work for show. Two small shows worth, within the next year is my goal. Having a studio / apartment to paint in has been a dream of mine since I was fourteen. Though I still don't have the skylight I always wanted, I'm going to try my best to take advantage of my new space.

A trip to Opus for fresh art supplies and I'll be ready. But first a nice lazy Monday in the sun - since everyone's probably closed today anyway.

Rosenpig Pitch Pack Public Purview

If you're excited about Rosenpig, this is the right place to be. The little guy has been optioned by Bardel Entertainment. So in the interests of buzz generation, here's the pitch pack pdf that sold him:

Rosenpig Pitch Pack 2007

Seriously though... read the episode springboards. Everyone just looks at the pictures and it makes me so sad, because my favorite part is the story section. Enjoy.

Something Random

From the random file, I bring you:

beep boop bop, what the?!

Let's get it all out. The nerd; out with it.

Here it comes... some super nerdy filth I'm scraping off my hard drive just to keep it occupied. I've got to get back to the serious brooding work of an introverted artist, so this is all an attempt to get the nerd out of my system.

Loose quick sketches, all.

Hello 2008

I would like to think that setting some of my goals for the next year will help me achieve them. I've recently moved into a new apartment with plenty of space for creativity. Last year I was still in the midst of optioning Rosenpig, so it was very hard for me to start up new projects without some closure on that.

Now that I have it and things are moving along without me, I'll be looking for new outlets.

1. I've begun writing again and hope to have my novel finished sometime before it goes double gem encrusted platinum (I think books do that, don't they?).

2. I've got some canvasses ready to be painted here, that I'm going to start in on very soon.

3. I miss the cottage, so I'll probably head there for a week this summer. Then perhaps I'll go somewhere crazy; Japan is top of my list. I shall bring my supplies and do a lot of watercolor work while I'm there.
